Live Photo to GIF Converter

Extract the motion video from a Live Photo and create a trimmed GIF in your browser. Files remain on this device.

Create GIF locally

Choose one .livp file, a matching image and MOV/MP4 pair, or a MOV file.

How to export a Live Photo for conversion

On macOS Photos, choose File → Export → Export Unmodified Original. Apple exports a Live Photo as a still image plus a video file. Select both matching files here. Some download tools package that pair in a .livp ZIP, which this page can unpack locally.

If you only need the motion, select its MOV file. GIF has no audio and uses a limited color palette, so short clips at 480px and 10-12 fps are a practical starting point.

GIF or MP4?

Choose GIF for short, silent looping reactions. Choose Live Photo to MP4 for better compression, more colors, and optional audio.
